Moon5Labs approached us with the idea for Runwago. The vision was to create a revolutionary "run-to-earn" mobile platform that combines fitness, blockchain technology, and gamification.
Building on their experience with a previous project called Space Catch, the client needed our expertise to develop an innovative running app where users could stake Runwago tokens to participate in challenges, complete runs, and earn cryptocurrency rewards from a pool funded by participants who didn't complete their challenges.

The client required a full-cycle development solution—from token presale to fully functioning mobile application. They needed a sophisticated platform that would stand apart from conventional fitness trackers by implementing a token-based challenge system on the BaseChain blockchain.
Their platform required anti-cheat mechanisms, smartwatch integration, and engaging features like voice guidance and leaderboards. Their goal was to initially appeal to crypto-enthusiast athletes before expanding to mainstream users.

Our work began with creating a token presale page to fund the project, followed by developing the app itself. Technical hurdles included building a robust anti-cheat system that could analyze motion patterns to detect irregularities like vehicular movement.
We faced challenges implementing precise run tracking for both frequency and distance-based challenges, ensuring accurate pace validation, and limiting the app to official platforms to prevent external API exploits. Creating a seamless cross-platform experience across mobile devices and smartwatches while maintaining competitive integrity added significant complexity.

We delivered a comprehensive solution starting with a successful token presale that sold out across three rounds over a four-month period.
The resulting mobile platform, built on SwiftUI for iOS and Kotlin for Android with Base chain integration, features a weekly challenge system where users stake tokens, an unique and advanced anti-cheat mechanism ensuring run authenticity, voice-guided tracking, and smartwatch compatibility.
Premium features include a private membership unlocking leaderboards, reward pool insights, and "free pass" that count missed runs as valid, plus exclusive private challenges operated through smart contracts.
